Montessori is an approach in education which believes that a child learns best in an environment which supports and respects each individual’s unique development.
The creator and proponent of this method is Dr. Maria Montessori. Based on her scientific observations of young children’s behavior, they learn in a homelike-setting (prepared environment) filled with materials that are self-correcting to facilitate learning. The teacher acts as a monitor and guide to encourage individual exploration, discovery, trial, practice and success.
Maria Montessori School of Quezon City (MMSQC) employs the Montessori Philosophy and Method that emphasize on the development of all facets of a child’s unfolding personality: social, emotional, cognitive and physical.
The school was established in 1981 and was recognized in 1983 by the Department of Education, under Government Recognition no. 063 s.1983. It is owned and operated by the Maria Montessori School of Quezon City Corporation.
